Krier Foods, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor in our production facility located in Random Lake, WI. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this person has the primary responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in installation, maintaining and repairing machines, equipment, and support systems.  This position is permanent full-time exempt position with a full range of benefits including competitive compensation, medical, dental, 401K with a match, paid vacation and holidays, and more!

    Responsibilities

    • Directs workers engaged in maintaining and performing repairs to production equipment, processing and support systems to include but not limited to Ammonia system, Reverse Osmosis water filtration system, HVAC, CO2, PLCs, boiler and any other support systems necessary for safe and proper production runs.
    • Managing parts inventory and purchasing tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
    • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications and standards including food safety requirements.
    • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
    • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces food safety and employee safety regulations.
    • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
    • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
    • Initiates or suggests plant to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    • Maintains work order records within MP2 system.
    • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
    • Performs activities of workers supervised.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • High school diploma or equivalent with industry relevant food and beverage experience in production management (minimum 2 years supervisory experience and minimum 5 years of previous experience installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, equipment and processing systems within the food and/or beverage industry) required, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Working knowledge of PLCs and electrical maintenance
    • Working knowledge of HVAC and Refrigeration systems
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Strong understanding of Good Mfg. Practices, HACCP, etc. in a food manufacturing environment.
    • Food Safety knowledge preferred with the ability to attain Food Safety Training as a “Qualified Individual” within Krier Foods Food Safety Program
    • MP2, FESMA, PCQI and Management System knowledge preferred.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate, read and comprehend instructions and procedures in English.
    • Must be able to work nights and weekends if necessary.
    • Demonstrate effective leadership through the ability to effectively provide conflict management, demonstrate adaptability and team work, developing employees and self, organizing, planning and delegating when appropriate to meet business goals and objectives.
    • Provide continuous improvement through problem solving.
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments.

    • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (frequent physical exertions, including twisting, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing) and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading electrical drawings; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measuring.
    • Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.

    • Office and manufacturing plant working environment.
    • Noise level in the office is moderate. While in the plant, hearing protection is required.
    • When located in the plant, the environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), moderate cold and hot temperature (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to raw food ingredients (including allergens) and chemicals.
    • Due to food and safety regulations, wearing of hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), bump cap and steel toed or composite toed shoes are required at all times while in the plant.
